Are offering shorter 3/4 month contracts for summer accommodation. They have several 3 & 4 bedroom properties available, but will be rented as a whole and not on a room only basis.

Lodgings

A number of householders throughout Edinburgh let out rooms in their home to students in the form of lodgings. The University has a list of lodgings near to the campus, however, please note these are not vetted by the University. We advise that you make arrangements to view the properties before signing or agreeing any lease and exchange any money.

Rooms in Private Flats

Useful website’s to visit are www.studentpad.co.uk or www.accommodationforstudents.com where you will find rooms available to rent in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Unfortunately we cannot arrange this type of accommodation on your behalf as flatmates/landlords wish to meet prospective tenants before coming to an agreement. The shortest tenancy length in private leased flats is usually 6 months, but you may find someone looking to be released from their contract for the summer months.

Private Student Only Accommodation

There are several student only accommodation buildings in the city centre. These are similar to student halls, but are run by private companies. Anyone studying in Edinburgh can apply. UNITE operates self‐catering apartments with a range of en‐suite rooms in shared apartments. They also offer studio apartments. Contracted rates available to book up until 31/05/2013. From 01/06/2013, any Reservations will be booked on an adhoc basis from June onwards (ad‐hoc rates are 10% increase from the contracted amount. Rents for en‐suite rooms start from £169 per week. Avail: 7 July to 25 August or 1 September 2013.

EDINBURGH FESTIVAL RENTALS—offer en‐suite rooms ranging from £150‐£450 per week (depending on month it is booked). They also have student blocks with accommodation at Meadow Court and Beaverbank accommodation. Beaverbank has internet via Ethernet cables in en‐suite rooms. Meadow Court has wireless internet access. Meadow Court only has one bathroom per flat. Each block is decorated more or less the same.

IQ in Edinburgh have en‐suite rooms available from 6 July to 17 August inclusive. Rent: £155 per week. Accommodation At Fountainbridge/Grove Street. Contact: Paula Gildea.

The Mansion Group—have 3,4,5 and 6 bedroom apartments. Rents from £159 per week. (Beaverbank, Fountainbridge & James Craig properties).

Other Short Term Accommodation

Destiny Scotland provide nightly, weekly, and monthly accommodation; all bills and internet are included.

Temporary Accommodation

You may prefer to book temporary accommodation for your arrival while you search for somewhere more permanent to stay.
